Anything Your Little Heart Desires by Patricia Bosworth Book Resume:

A memoir by the daughter of famous attorney Bartley C. Crum: “A gripping account not only of Crum but of McCarthyism and its devastating effects” (SFGate). The FBI kept a secret dossier on him. He was a confidante to stars; adviser to politicians; and lawyer to the likes of William Randolph Hearst, Rita Hayworth, and the blacklisted Hollywood Ten, whom he defended during the House Un-American Activities Committee trials of 1947. Bartley C. Crum was also Patricia Bosworth’s father—a frequently absent, unrelentingly principled, and stubbornly self-destructive one. Anything Your Little Heart Desires is Bosworth’s memoir of life with him, and of the momentous events that shaped his lifetime, from the New Deal to the Cold War and the anti-Communist fervor that jolted American life. Using interviews, journals, letters, and her father’s own files, Bosworth delivers a profoundly personal portrait of the father she never fully knew, and the political forces that shaped a nation.

Soul’S Journey by Rev. Dr. Becky Rector MDiv Book Resume:

Many people have asked themselves, What is my hearts desire? This question can be confusing. Perhaps you arrived at a point when you felt confident in what your hearts desire looked like. You may have even started making the choice to go after it, whatever it is, only to have something get in your way, maybe more than once. This barrier that always seems to pop up may have manifested as fear, either your own or that of a loved one, that pulled you away from your decision. This fear of the unknown may have forced you to stay in your current situation. No matter how this barrier manifested, it seemed to get in your way every time. Now, some people may believe this interference is a sign from the utmost. Or perhaps they believe that, by staying in their current situation, they will find a new happiness that will lead to contentment. So which is the true hearts desire? The answer is simple: Its the one that, when you see yourself obtaining it, gives you the most joy and happiness. Its the one that makes your heart race.

Minding the Heart by Saucy, Robert Book Resume:

The heart is the most important biblical term for the person's nature and actions. Indeed, the heart is the control center of life. It is the very place where God works to change us. But how does this growth take place? How are Christians to discover the steadfast spirit of David's psalm? In Minding the Heart, Robert L. Saucy offers insightful instruction on what spiritual transformation is and how to achieve it. He shows how renewing one's mind through meditation, action, and community can begin the process of change, but ultimately the final change—the change that brings abundant life—can only come through a vital relationship with God. "The renewing of the heart is an inescapable human need," writes Saucy, "but the solution lies only within the realm of the divine." Drawing from inspiring Bible passages as well as selected scientific studies, Saucy demonstrates how to make lasting change so Christians can finally achieve the joys of becoming more like Christ.

Wandering in Darkness by Eleonore Stump Book Resume:

Only the most naïve or tendentious among us would deny the extent and intensity of suffering in the world. Can one hold, consistently with the common view of suffering in the world, that there is an omniscient, omnipotent, perfectly good God? This book argues that one can. Wandering in Darkness first presents the moral psychology and value theory within which one typical traditional theodicy, namely, that of Thomas Aquinas, is embedded. It explicates Aquinas's account of the good for human beings, including the nature of love and union among persons. Eleonore Stump also makes use of developments in neurobiology and developmental psychology to illuminate the nature of such union. Stump then turns to an examination of narratives. In a methodological section focused on epistemological issues, the book uses recent research involving autism spectrum disorder to argue that some philosophical problems are best considered in the context of narratives. Using the methodology argued for, the book gives detailed, innovative exegeses of the stories of Job, Samson, Abraham and Isaac, and Mary of Bethany. In the context of these stories and against the backdrop of Aquinas's other views, Stump presents Aquinas's own theodicy, and shows that Aquinas's theodicy gives a powerful explanation for God's allowing suffering. She concludes by arguing that this explanation constitutes a consistent and cogent defense for the problem of suffering.

The Complete Works of Zacharias Tanee Fomum on Prayer (Volume 3) by Zacharias Tanee Fomum Book Resume:

"The Complete Works of Zacharias Tanee Fomum on Prayer (Volume 3)” contains the following books: 1) Life-Changing Thoughts on Prayer (Volume 2) 2) The Ministry of Supplication 3) Moving God Through Prayer 4) Waiting on the Lord in Prayer 5) Prayer Crusades (Volume 1) The life-changing thoughts on prayer contained in this volume are like the pings that get the believer to detect the will and leading of God in various domains of prayer. Each one of the thoughts is an entire topic to be pursued, explored, and developed to the fullest. As you go through these thoughts, you are travelling with the author along his journey around the world, doing God’s work of ministry, while in the midst of prayer. Supplication is handled from the glaring example of Hannah who, having been barren for a long while, desperately asked God for a baby, as her priced treasure to be given back to Him. In supplication, the supplicant is so desperate that he will not rest and will not receive ‘No’ from God for an answer. This goes on till the point of breakthrough. Those who make requests while keeping other options open are not supplicating. With supplication, there is one request, no options and no plan ‘B’. The reader will also learn how to move God through prayer. There is no way anyone can move God through prayer if he does not know the perfect will of the Lord about what he is praying for. It is those who know God’s will and pray that will back to Him that moves Him through to answer and to do things in response to prayer. God is not obliged to answer prayer that is not in tandem with His will. The dynamics of waiting on the Lord in prayer are not the tools of a rapacious world that wants instantaneous answers to prayer. One may have to abide in ceaseless prayer before the Lord about an issue for a year, ten years, or more, and not give up until the day the Lord answers or gives assurance that He will surely answer. This volume ends with the author’s practical life of prayer crusades, praying with his people. Prayer crusades range from 8 hours, 10 hours or more of personal or group prayer daily for periods ranging from 21 days to 40 days and beyond. In this final part of the volume, the reader finds himself in the prayer crusades, praying with the author and his people.

Human Rights in the Maya Region by Pedro Pitarch,Shannon Speed,Xochitl Leyva-Solano Book Resume:

In recent years Latin American indigenous groups have regularly deployed the discourse of human rights to legitimate their positions and pursue their goals. Perhaps nowhere is this more evident than in the Maya region of Chiapas and Guatemala, where in the last two decades indigenous social movements have been engaged in ongoing negotiations with the state, and the presence of multinational actors has brought human rights to increased prominence. In this volume, scholars and activists examine the role of human rights in the ways that states relate to their populations, analyze conceptualizations and appropriations of human rights by Mayans in specific localities, and explore the relationship between the individualist and “universal” tenets of Western-derived concepts of human rights and various Mayan cultural understandings and political subjectivities. The collection includes a reflection on the effects of truth-finding and documenting particular human rights abuses, a look at how Catholic social teaching validates the human rights claims advanced by indigenous members of a diocese in Chiapas, and several analyses of the limitations of human rights frameworks. A Mayan intellectual seeks to bring Mayan culture into dialogue with western feminist notions of women’s rights, while another contributor critiques the translation of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights into Tzeltal, an indigenous language in Chiapas. Taken together, the essays reveal a broad array of rights-related practices and interpretations among the Mayan population, demonstrating that global-local-state interactions are complex and diverse even within a geographically limited area. So too are the goals of indigenous groups, which vary from social reconstruction and healing following years of violence to the creation of an indigenous autonomy that challenges the tenets of neoliberalism. Carmack, Stener Ekern, Christine Kovic, Xochitl Leyva Solano, Julián López García, Irma Otzoy, Pedro Pitarch, Álvaro Reyes, Victoria Sanford, Rachel Sieder, Shannon Speed, Rodolfo Stavenhagen, David Stoll, Richard Ashby Wilson

Thomas Cranmer's Doctrine of Repentance by Ashley Null Book Resume:

Self-serving lacky, self-deceiving puppet, Swiss Protestant partisan, or sensible Erasmian humanist: which, if any, was Thomas Cranmer? For centuries historians have offered often bitterly contradictory answers. Although Cranmer was a key participant in the changes to English life brought about by the Reformation, his reticent nature and lack of extensive personal writings have left a vacuum that in the past has too often been filled by scholarly prejudice or presumption. For the first time, however, this book examines in-depth little used manuscript sources to reconstruct Cranmer's theological development on the crucial Protestant doctrine of justification. The author explores Cranmer's cultural heritage, why he would have been attracted to Luther's thought, and then provides convincing evidence for the Reformed Protestant Augustinianism which Cranmer enshrined in the formularies of the Church of England. For Cranmer the glory of God was his love for the unworthy; the heart of theology was proclaiming this truth through word and sacrament. Hence, the focus of both was on the life of on-going repentance, remembering God's gracious love inspired grateful human love.

Welch's insightful, biblical answers to these questions show that freedom from others' opinions and genuine, loving relationships grow as we learn about ourselves, others, and God. This interactive book includes questions for individual or group study and is suitable for teenagers and young adults.

Theo McCabe’s teenage years were consumed by his fascination with music and Cassie Clarke. After a fight cost him both, he was forced to move out of state, leaving Cassie clueless to the truth. Now he’s back in Savannah, recording his first album. Six years hasn’t diminished his need for her, but with a deadline looming, he only has one shot to make things right. Cassie doesn’t believe in fairy tales or the myth surrounding her new antique hair comb. Legend says the owner will find its soul’s counterpart, but Cassie isn’t ready to fall in love. She’s eager to debunk the myth until she and Theo reconnect. Toned, tatted, and tenacious, he’s making it difficult to focus on her job or the fact that he’s her client. Though Cassie doesn't want to fall for Theo, when he enlists her help in reuniting two of their friends, Cassie can’t refuse him or the chemistry between them. Theo is desperate to have one night with Cassie, but doing so means exposing his heart to the only woman who could break it. After all, he's not the only man in Cassie's life. New Children of Earth Reach, Teach and Inspire by Jean Schweizer Ph.D. Book Resume:

The New children come in all varieties, Indigo, Crystal, Octarines, Magenta, Star and there will be many more. They all have one thing in common, they live, move and breathe in the reality of wholeness. They show us a new harmony, a tapestry of Divine Law. Any interruption in the way they process life with this harmonious flow and ebb of energy literally causes them to 'bounce off the walls'. There is need to understand the way their energy moves and functions, so it may be used in a productive way. This is a worldwide phenomenon. "New Children of Earth' reveals 22 "Creation Codes', rhythms of consciousness belonging to the New children, the way they move, function, maintain balance, accelerate their development and most important the way they bring knowledge into wisdom and love to humanity. This is break-through information on how children are born with an expanded spirit of wholeness for the creation of a new reality. This information helps parents and professionals deal with one of the most important issues of our times, our children and their multi-dimensional abilities. Presently, the two-dimensional way of teaching children is causing great confusion for them, resulting in ADHD and other psychological symptoms. Any interruption in the natural flow of information received, transmitted and translated causes the children to literally, 'climb the walls'. The souls coming to earth need us to help them activate these formless spiritual Cycles of Love to sustain their life's purpose. CODES The energy patterns of this new consciousness, provides us with codes, Creation Codes, birthed in the New children, in accordance with the love and harmony of Universal Law, expanding and in harmony with all galaxies. The coupling of polarity is bringing about a change in the way we engage with Universal Law. IMPULSE Together the codes are called, 'IMPULSE', which is the nature of this expanded system. The movements of each code weave the vibrations, pulses of sound and color as they flow in and out of the body. Each code can be done separately, however, when the codes are connected, they form a tapestry with a specific order and sequence, like a Mandela. The codes open up the phenomenon of the New children, showing us how to understand and experience them, using their way of learning to carry them forward. The codes help us move our consciousness into the future and thereby apply to everyone. They are diagnostic and or treatment tools. The pulses emanate from the heart of One directly into the heart of all creating unity, harmony and inter-connectedness. The properties of each code are presented pictorially with 22 drawings, which are done, showing children gesturing, making the information more understandable. Jean has three self-published publications: A New Art of Movement: Circle Math: Cycles of Love-Unfolding in the first year of life. She is presently working a fifth book; The Diamond of Education-What Kind Of Education Would Result If We Learned In The Way We Are Created? And the latest book on, "The Growing of a Child" These are all part of: New Children Creation Series This is a nonfiction manuscript, a positive self-help manual for parents and professionals who find themselves frustrated by children they do not always understand
