By the Light of a Ratcatcher's Moon by , Book Resume:

How a Tudor priest-hunter and sexual deviant went about his business during the brutal Catholic purges of Henry VIII’s reformation and beyond. The main character is Seb Gunner, former builder and soldier who is recruited by Thomas Cranmer, the Archbishop of Canterbury, as a hunter of priests and tower torturer. This vivid portrait of Gunner and his band does not shirk the brutality and dehumanising sexual inequalities of the time, including Gunner’s torture of his own sister and subsequent nod to her being burned at the stake. There is, however, a softer and more redeeming side to him including his loyalty to the archbishop and his men, and an unforgettable and intensely physical love for a certain high-born shire lady who seduces Gunner from the bed of the torture rack in the tower dungeon.

He was done battling for others. The end. It was a great plan . . . right up to the whole “fight for your life in a mini-mart” thing. Without warning, Jamie is attacked by a sword-wielding man and warned to stay away. From what, he’s not sure. Unexpectedly, he is invited to join a covert band of brothers that fights to keep these evil beings, called Malum, at bay. Everything hinges on a timely rescue of Kate as Jamie’s past and present collide. An Elegant and Learned Discourse of the Light of Nature by Nathaniel Culverwell Book Resume:

Composed in a period of religious and political upheaval, Culverwell's Discourse of the Light of Nature is an imaginative statement of the teachings of Christian humanism concerning the nature and limits of human reason and the related concepts of natural and divine law. The lengthy introduction to this new critical edition throws light on the evolution of English rationalism in the seventeenth century, and the annotation establishes for the first time the full range of Culverwell's sources – classical, medieval, and Renaissance – and enables the reader to appreciate his manner of citing authority and handling illustration. When Madeline Hammond stepped from the train at El Cajon, New Mexico, it was nearly midnight, and her first impression was of a huge dark space of cool, windy emptiness, strange and silent, stretching away under great blinking white stars. Miss, there's no one to meet you, said the conductor, rather anxiously. I wired my brother, she replied. "The train being so late - perhaps he grew tired of waiting. He will be here presently. But, if he should not come - surely I can find a hotel?" There's lodgings to be had. Get the station agent to show you. If you'll excuse me - this is no place for a lady like you to be alone at night. It's a rough little town - mostly Mexicans, miners, cowboys. And they carouse a lot. Besides, the revolution across the border has stirred up some excitement along the line...

A Dangerous Flirtation by Laura Jean Libbey Book Resume:

Three young girls, as fair as youth and beauty could make them, stood with arms twined about one another on the sands of Newport one hot August afternoon. Neither of the trio could have been over seventeen. All three were dressed in white, and looked as delightfully cool, sweet and airy, with their floating white ribbons and wind-blown curls, as summer maidens can possibly look.' -an excerpt Written in a style of narrative similar to Henry James, Laura Jean Libbey's present novel 'A Dangerous Flirtation' is an engaging but longish romantic novel.

Romance by Ford Madox Hueffer,Joseph Conrad Book Resume:

This early work Romance by Ford Madox Ford was originally published in 1903 and we are now republishing it with a brand new introduction. Ford Madox Ford was born Ford Madox Hueffer in Merton, Surrey, England on 17th December 1873. The creative arts ran in his family - Hueffer's grandfather, Ford Madox Brown, was a well-known painter, and his German émigré father was music critic of The Times - and after a brief dalliance with music composition, the young Hueffer began to write. Although Hueffer never attended university, during his early twenties he moved through many intellectual circles, and would later talk of the influence that the "Middle Victorian, tumultuously bearded Great" - men such as John Ruskin and Thomas Carlyle - exerted on him. In 1908, Hueffer founded the English Review, and over the next 15 months published Thomas Hardy, H. G. Wells, Joseph Conrad, Henry James, John Galsworthy and W. B. Yeats, and gave débuts to many authors, including D. H. Lawrence and Norman Douglas. Hueffer's editorship consolidated the classic canon of early modernist literature and saw him earn a reputation as of one of the century's greatest literary editors. Ford's most famous work was his Parade's End tetralogy, which he completed in the 1920's and have now been adapted into a BBC television drama. Ford continued to write through the thirties, producing fiction, non-fiction, and two volumes of autobiography: Return to Yesterday (1931) and It was the Nightingale (1933). In his last years, he taught literature at the Olivet College in Michigan. Ford died on 26th June 1939 in Deauville, France, at the age of 65.
