The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein Book Resume:

Soon to be a major motion picture, this heart-warming and inspirational tale follows Enzo, a loyal family dog, tells the story of his human family, how they nearly fell apart, and what he did to bring them back together. Enzo knows he is different from other dogs: he thinks and feels in nearly human ways. He has educated himself by watching extensive television, and by listening very closely to the words of his master, Denny Swift, an up-and-coming race car driver. Through Denny, Enzo realizes that racing is a metaphor: that by applying the techniques a driver would apply on the race track, one can successfully navigate the ordeals and travails one encounters in life. Enzo relates the story of his human family, sharing their tragedies and triumphs. In the end, despite what he sees as his own limitations as a dog, Enzo comes through heroically to preserve the Swift family. The Art of Racing in the Rain is a testament to a man's life, given by his dog. But it is also a testament to the dog, himself. Though Enzo cannot speak, he understands everything that happens around him as he bears witness to his master's problems. His enforced muteness only refines his listening ability, and allows him to understand many of life's nuances that are lost on most humans. With humour, sharp observation, and a courageous heart, Enzo guides the reader to the bittersweet yet ultimately satisfying conclusion: there are no limitations to what we can achieve, if we truly know where we want to be.

Anne of Green Gables, My Daughter, and Me by Lorilee Craker Book Resume:

A charming and heartwarming true story for anyone who has ever longed for a place to belong. “Anne of Green Gables,” My Daughter, and Me is a witty romp through the classic novel; a visit to the magical shores of Prince Edward Island; and a poignant personal tale of love, faith, and loss. And it all started with a simple question: “What’s an orphan?” The words from her adopted daughter, Phoebe, during a bedtime reading of Anne of Green Gables stopped Lorilee Craker in her tracks. How could Lorilee, who grew up not knowing her own birth parents, answer Phoebe’s question when she had wrestled all her life with feeling orphaned—and learned too well that not every story has a happy ending? So Lorilee set off on a quest to find answers in the pages of the very book that started it all, determined to discover—and teach her daughter—what home, family, and belonging really mean. If you loved the poignancy of Orphan Train and the humor of Mennonite in a Little Black Dress, you will be captivated by “Anne of Green Gables,” My Daughter, and Me. It’s a beautiful memoir that deftly braids three lost girls’ stories together, speaks straight to the heart of the orphan in us all, and shows us the way home at last.

In The Midst of Me: Poetry by Shamina N. Williams

The Art Of Racing In The Rain Pdf [Pdf/ePub] eBook

In The Midst of Me: Poetry by Shamina N. Williams by Shamina Nicole Williams Book Resume:

Sometimes in life, the hardest thing to do is to look deep within ourselves to find the answers to some of life's dilemmas. It can expose a great sense of vulnerability when we decide to peel away each layer of ourselves and delve into the good, the bad, and the ugly of our own existence. Although all these things combined with each of our life experiences create the person that we have grown to be, it's still a difficult task to encounter. In doing so, it's almost inevitable that we uncover some of the deepest pains, the happiest joys, the biggest regrets, the greatest accomplishments, the worst fears, the best attributes, and the many flaws that embody us as a person. There's a wide range of emotions that will accompany these things that will surely leave questions in our minds as we contemplate the decisions we've made and the roads we've traveled. Granted, this process is tough on us emotionally, but at the end of the process, it can prove to be an exhilarating experience that frees us of the baggage that we tend to hold on to.Now imagine if you decided to document all these emotions, fears, joys, regrets, mishaps, accomplishments and publish them for the world to read...The vulnerability that you felt will now be multiplied by a thousand as you invite everyone into your innerworld. Would the reader of these inner thoughts judge you? Laugh at you? Feel sorry for you? Cry with you? Maybe, but what about the people who may be going through the exact same emotions and thinking that no one can relate to the pain they are experiencing. That alone may give them the will to keep pushing through the obstacles that life has placed in their paths. The funny thing about emotions is that we all have them. Some of us disguise them a little better than others, but in each of us, they exist. That's what makes us human. The ability to share these emotions is a gift that not many of us possess. Those that are not blessed with this gift may never feel the relief that accompanies the purging and release of letting go of the baggage of past life's experiences. The toughest person that we will ever face and answer to is the one in the mirror. But once we find those answers, there may be millions of people that can learn from those experiencesAs in any book, you have to complete and close one chapter before you can open and enjoy the next one. So with that being said, I ask...when your book of life ends, will there be many open-ended unfinished chapters or will it flow like a great novel of experiences and journeys that were uncovered when you looked "In the Midst of Me"?

Voy a estrechar vuestras manos.
