The Vampire Almanac by J. Gordon Melton Book Resume:

Grab a stake, a fistful of garlic, a crucifix and holy water as you enter the dark, blood-curdling world of the original pain in the neck in this ultimate collection of vampire facts and fiction! What accounts for the undying fascination people have for vampires? How did encounters with death create centuries-old myths and folklore in virtually every culture in the world? When did the early literary vampires—as pictured by Goethe, Coleridge, Shelly, Polidori, Byron, and Nodier as the personifications of man’s darker side—transform from villains into today’s cultural rebels? Showing how vampire-like creatures organically formed in virtually every part of the world, The Vampire Almanac: The Complete History by renowned religion expert and fearless vampire authority J. Gordon Melton, Ph.D., examines the historic, societal, and psychological role the vampire has played—and continues to play—in understanding death, man’s deepest desires, and human pathologies. It analyzes humanity’s lusts, fears, and longing for power and the forbidden! Today, the vampire serves as a powerful symbol for the darker parts of the human condition, touching on death, immortality, forbidden sexuality, sexual power and surrender, intimacy, alienation, rebellion, violence, and a fascination with the mysterious. The vampire is often portrayed as a symbolic leader advocating an outrageous alternative to the demands of conformity. Vampires can also be tools for scapegoating such as when women are called “vamps” and bosses are described as “bloodsuckers.” Meet all of the villains, anti-heroes, and heroes of myths, legends, books, films, and television series across cultures and today’s pop culture in The Vampire Almanac. It assembles and analyzes hundreds of vampiric characters, people, and creatures, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Vlad the Impaler, Edward Cullen and The Twilight Saga, Bram Stoker, Lestat De Lioncourt and The Vampire Chronicles, Lon Chaney, True Blood, Bela Lugosi, Dracula, Dark Shadows, Lilith, Vampire Weekend, Batman, Nosferatu, and so many more. There is a lot to sink your teeth into with this deep exhumation of the undead. Quench your thirst for facts, histories, biographies, definitions, analysis, immortality, and more! This gruesomely thorough book of vampire facts also has a helpful bibliography, an extensive index, and numerous photos, adding to its usefulness.

Nostradamus Volume 2 of 17 by William Dudley Pelley,Sister Thedra Book Resume:

This series of books entitled "Nostradamus" is a publication of William Dudley Pelley’s original "Soulcraft Fellowship, Letters from Home, The Nine O’clock Sessions, Survey of Probabilities, Purposes of the Infinite, Letters from the Heavenly Home and Halls of Light Illumination" representing over 1500 legal-sized, single-spaced typewritten pages originally written in 1955 but never published in its entirety before now. This material, thought to be unique in Pelley’s writings, was channelled by him and mailed weekly to his subscribers in five-page sets. One unknown individual in Washington State assembled these sets (minus issue #1) and bound them into the manuscripts. We at TNT Publishing obtained the manuscripts, digitized them and are publishing them herein, beginning with Letter Number 2. While the majority of this material was received psychically from Nostradamus, other Steller historical personalities also "tuned in" to provide (absolutely awesome!) knowledge and valuable communication while Pelley was in contact with Nostradamus, Democritus, Henry Ford, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Edison and others...

Theatre of Light and Dark by David Hamilton Book Resume:

I have written essays on art, architecture and literature for New English Review under Theodore Dalrymple. People think we should follow and as it's the facebook age write in little bits or compete with reality TV by telling all about us. I write traditional-style poems with, I hope, meaning. A publisher described me as The Rebel Poet because I ignore literary fashion and write in my own way.I like travelling and have been to many parts of the country, towns, cities and villages. My method for finding interesting local places is to ring the local tourist office and when I arrive I go to a pub and talk to local people who know the interesting places. I take a lot of photographs of these places and a very small example is in the Gallery on my website. I am taking notes for a future large volume of Literary Essays which will range from medieval Literature to the twentieth century. I studied English literature, Dramatic Structure and Playwriting, Film Structure and script writing. I find that when I am busy a break in a traditional pub is refreshing and you return to work with new ideas and a fresh view of what you are doing. People ask what one's influences are: I try to write in my own way. But a lifetime of reading leaves a mark.

For millennia, the human race has been controlled and manipulated by forces beyond our own dimension or awareness. A carefully managed human/extra-dimensional breeding program has produced a hybrid slave race that isn’t aware of its true origins or fate. Few know that these shadow puppeteers are actually in control—or that they even exist. They are not human ... but then again, neither are we. As the epic battle of consciousness expands into the outer dimensions, we know that one thing is for certain: When the Liberty Bell rings once again, their empire will be reduced to a heap of ashes. There will be an army of forces, backed by the highest of forces in the heavens, which will conduct this re-awakening of the masses. This story recounts the takeover of planet Earth by the Snake of Zion and shares everything you need to know to be truly free. The battleground is within each of us, and our captors are but a reflection of humanity. Unless we change ourselves, how will the reflection be changed? Hopefully, after this enduring encounter deep into the rabbit hole, you will realize how this reality has been manipulated by forces in the fourth dimension. In order to succeed, we must propel ourselves through the heart chakra and into the fifth dimension, where the beloved Terra will find the peace and dignity that she deserves. Dark Souls. Beyond the Grave - Volume 2 by Damien Mecheri,Sylvain Romieu Book Resume:

We thought we had gone through the topic in the first volume, those two games opened new pists of reflexions. The in-depth analysis of Hidetaka Miyazaki's Dark Souls saga continues with this volume 2, decoding the Bloodborne and Dark Souls III episodes. An indinspensale ebook for all the fans of the game Dark Souls ! EXTRACT The project, christened Project Beast, began soon after the Astorias of the Abyss DLC was released in August 2012. At the time, FromSoftware was also beginning to build Dark Souls II, its cash cow. Miyazaki kept his distance from this sequel, which was handed off to Tomohiro Shibuya and Yui Tanimura, with support from the FromSoftware president and creator of King’s Field, Naotoshi Zin, who supervised the game system. On his end, Hidetaka Miyazaki formed a trusted team of regular collaborators, such as lead programmer Jun Itô (who had already filled this role for Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls), composer and lead sound designer Tsukasa Saitô (Armored Core games), and most of his regular artists: Daisuke Satake, Masanori Waragai and Hiroshi Nakamura. The success of Demon’s Souls, and the even greater success of Dark Souls, allowed FromSoftware to grow its ranks significantly. In total, no fewer than fifty programmers participated in the project, along with around twenty game system designers and fifty people working on visual creation (animation, scenery, characters, etc.). Thanks to financial support from Sony, many Japanese, Chinese and Taiwanese studios were sub-contracted during the production to help with graphics and visuals. ABOUT THE AUTHORS Passionate about films and video games, Damien Mecheri joined the writers team of Gameplay RPG in 2004, writing several articles for the second special edition on the Final Fantasy saga. He continued his work with the team in another publication called Background, before continuing the online adventure in 2008 with the site Gameweb.fr. Since 2011, he has come aboard Third Éditions with Mehdi El Kanafi and Nicolas Courcier, the publisher’s two founders. Damien is also the author of the book Video Game Music: a History of Gaming Music. For Third Éditions, he is actively working on the “Level Up” and “Année jeu vidéo” collections. He has also written or co-written several works from the same publisher: The Legend of Final Fantasy X, Welcome to Silent Hill: a journey into Hell, The Works of Fumito Ueda: a Different Perspective on Video Games and, of course, the first volume of Dark Souls: Beyond the Grave. Curious by nature, a dreamer against the grain and a chronic ranter, Sylvain Romieu is also a passionate traveler of the real and the unreal, the world and the virtual universes, always in search of enriching discoveries and varied cultures. A developer by trade, he took up his modest pen several years ago to study the characteristics and richness of the marvelously creative world of video games. He writes for a French video game site called Chroniques-Ludiques, particularly on the topic of RPGs, his preferred genre.

This collection of essays brings together papers written for, and presented at, the VI Latin American Congress of Jungian Psychology, held in Florianopolis, Brazil, in September 2012. The reader will find contributions by leading Jungian analysts in the continent from Brazil, Uruguay, and Chile, to Venezuela and Mexico. The essays here share discussions on issues pertinent to the social and cultural climate of different parts of Latin America, as well as the constantly challenging questions of psychotherapy. They present detailed psychological reflections on the specific theme chosen for the meeting at that time: friendship and its paradoxes. Fraternity, conflicts, tolerance and intolerance, mutuality, conjugal relationships, empathy, sympathy, self-esteem and envy, issues of psychotherapy, mythological amplifications, and perspectives on the possibilities of dialogue between people and nations are among the wide range of topics explored here. As such, this book will appeal to practitioners of psychotherapy, psychologists, and anthropologists, as well as the reader interested in how Jungian psychology is currently meeting the difficult challenges of a changing world.

The game achieved iconic status as both a horror and an action title for its rich lore and for the continuity of story elements through all aspects of game design. This first full-length study examines Bloodborne's themes of dangerous knowledge and fatal pride and its aesthetics in the context of other works on game studies, horror and the Gothic. The book's three parts focus on lore and narrative, the game's nightmarish world, and its mechanics.

Spirals & Shards: Pagan Poetry from the Back of the Heart by Raven Kaldera Book Resume:

To be a Pagan is to live in a world that is alive, all around you. Trees and stones and rivers have lives and spirits of their own. Gods send omens in the rustle of leaves, the advertisement in the mailbox, the song on the radio. I called this book Pagan Poetry from the Back of the Heart because so many of us write these poems in solitude, not for any other eyes, just scribbled down because we saw and felt and had to do something. These poems are from the part of the heart not often seen, the reclusive part that writes in the wee hours and then carefully saves what may never be seen. We tuck them away, between the old outworn toys from our childhood and the travel brochures for the trip we'll never take. One day, perhaps someone will want them. Who knows

Voices of Resistance by Alison Baker Book Resume:

Providing new information on women's participation in the Moroccan independence movement, Voices of Resistance offers a rare opportunity to hear Moroccan women speak freely about their personal lives. Each woman is introduced in terms of her family background and personal style, and the interviews are given texture and context by references to Moroccan history and popular culture, including contemporary songs and poems. These women are storytellers, and they lived through stirring times. Their active struggle against French colonialism also challenged and redefined traditional Moroccan ideas about women's roles in society. The narratives reconstruct the little-known history of Moroccan feminism and nationalism, and probe the lives of a remarkable group of Islamic women whose voices have never been heard until now.

Prophetic Mysticism of John of the Cross (Collected Works) by John ofthe Cross Book Resume:

This is the 16-century collection of spiritual, mystical works regarding the search for unity with the divine. The author wrote part of the works during his imprisonment. In those times, the author experienced bad health and spiritual condition, which inspired him for an inner spiritual search. The result of this search was the poem The Dark Night of the Soul, telling about the soul's journey to unity with God, which goes through three stages: purgation, illumination, and unity. Ascent of Mount Carmel is a treatise to the poem mentioned above, which gives practical advice on the ascetic life. Finally, the Spiritual Canticle is a metaphoric poem about the soul searching the unity with Christ, presented as a story of a wife seeking her beloved husband.
