Lost and Found by Ross W. Greene Book Resume:

Implement a more constructive approach to difficult students Lost and Found is a follow-up to Dr. Ross Greene's landmark works, The Explosive Child and Lost at School, providing educators with highly practical, explicit guidance on implementing his Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) Problem Solving model with behaviorally-challenging students. While the first two books described Dr. Greene's positive, constructive approach and described implementation on a macro level, this useful guide provides the details of hands-on CPS implementation by those who interact with these children every day. Readers will learn how to incorporate students' input in understanding the factors making it difficult for them to meet expectations and in generating mutually satisfactory solutions. Specific strategies, sample dialogues, and time-tested advice help educators implement these techniques immediately. The groundbreaking CPS approach has been a revelation for parents and educators of behaviorally-challenging children. This book gives educators the concrete guidance they need to immediately begin working more effectively with these students. Implement CPS one-on-one or with an entire class Work collaboratively with students to solve problems Study sample dialogues of CPS in action Change the way difficult students are treated The discipline systems used in K-12 schools are obsolete, and aren't working for the kids to whom they're most often applied – those with behavioral challenges. Lost and Found provides a roadmap to a different paradigm, helping educators radically transform the way they go about helping their most challenging students.

Lost and Found by Alan Dean Foster Book Resume:

Ever since his classic debut, The Tar-Aiym Krang, the first of the wildly successful Pip and Flinx adventures, New York Times bestselling author Alan Dean Foster has captivated readers around the world. Now this writer of bold imagination and stunning originality has created an electrifying space epic set in a universe at once strangely familiar and starkly terrifying. Familiar because the universe is ours; terrifying because the human condition might soon be. . . . Not so long ago Marcus Walker was just another young commodities trader in Chicago, working hard and playing harder. But that’s all in the past, part of a life half forgotten—a reality that vanished when he was attacked while camping and tossed aboard a starship bound for deep space. Desperately, Walker searches for explanations, only to realize he’s trapped in a horrifying nightmare that is all too real. Instead of being a rich hotshot at the top of the food chain, Walker discovers he’s just another amusing novelty, part of a cargo of “cute” aliens from primitive planets—destined to be sold as pets to highly advanced populations in “civilized” regions of the galaxy. Even if he weren’t constantly watched by his captors, Walker has few options. After all, there is no escape from a speeding starship. Another man might resign himself to the inevitable and hope to be sold to a kindly owner, but not Walker. This former college football star has plenty of American ingenuity and no intention of admitting defeat, now or ever. In fact, he’s only just begun to fight. The adventure will continue with two more novels

THE FOUND Now, thirteen years later, a young woman is found in the front yard of the Logans’ old house, disoriented and clutching the teddy bear Laurel was last seen with. Can her sister finally be back? Faith always dreamed of her sister coming home; she just never believed it would happen. But soon a disturbing series of events leaves Faith increasingly isolated from her family and paranoid about her sister’s motives. Before long, Faith begins to wonder if it’s the abduction that’s changed her sister, or if it’s something else. . . . “An intriguing story from start to finish.” —Kirkus Reviews “Clarke’s true success lies in crafting a realistic and haunting story of two young women who redefine what it means to be sisters.” —PW “This mystery will have wide appeal and keep teens riveted.” —SLJ “A compelling story with sympathetic and credible characters.” —The Bulletin

Lost and Found by Paul Florsheim,David Moore Book Resume:

"Lost and Found is about how young men learn to be fathers and how we, as a society, can facilitate that learning and help stabilize families. Paul Florsheim and David Moore introduce a diverse group of young men whose stories represent different trajectories of young fatherhood. The stories featured in this book begin soon after these young men find out their partners are pregnant and move in different, and often unexpected, directions. Some young men--even those with significant problems--grow into parenthood and speak eloquently about connecting with their children. A few speak with disarming candor about becoming disconnected and lost. In six parts, Florsheim and Moore weave the individual stories of these young men into the larger story of fatherhood in 21st century America. While there is little doubt that America has a "fatherhood problem" characterized by high rates of father absence, Florsheim and Moore focus on understanding new family types and looking for ways to ensure their stability. They draw from the work of evolutionary biologists, social historians, developmental psychologists, and marital therapists to make sense of what goes wrong between young fathers and their families, seeking information about how some young men learn--despite the odds against them--to become "good enough" fathers. In the last section, Lost and Found builds a case for providing young men with more concrete institutional support and presents a plan for integrating expectant fathers into prenatal care, helping them become fathers, just as we currently help their partners become mothers. young fathers; adolescent parents; parenthood; co-parenting; father absence; family stability; father development; developmental psychology; prenatal care; co-parenting counselling"--

Lost and Found

Lost And Found [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Lost and Found by Stephen C. Waller, Dds Book Resume:

"Lost and Found" presents an accurate and true account of an addict's life before, during, and after his chronic addiction to drugs-specifically, to crack cocaine. The majority of addicts never get the chance to live in recovery long term. They end up prematurely dead or in a jail due to drug-related crimes. The life of an addict is bleak, unchanging, and spent primarily in denial-denial that there is a problem or that they need help. With addiction being as prevalent as it is, author Stephen C. Waller felt compelled to tell his story as honestly as possible as it relates to his addiction. The journey of an addict is paved with many starts and stops. The addiction dictates their every action, and it fuels their unrealistic sense of self-worth. Until the addict believes that they have a problem, no one can help them. Waller describes the disintegration of his life, from his career as a very successful dentist-a lucrative dental practice that allowed him a new Porsche and a beautiful home-through a downward spiral into addiction and unemployment that left him living with his elderly mother and aunt. He then goes on to consider what factors brought him into long-term recovery. Brutally honest throughout, "Lost and Found" chronicles a journey through the life of an addict, beginning before the active addiction, through the thirty-four years of drug use, and into the following sixteen years of sobriety.
