The Day the Lies Began by Kylie Kaden Book Resume:

‘It seemed simple at first - folding one lie over the next. She had become expert at feathering over the cracks to ensure her life appeared the same. But inside, it didn’t feel fixed.’ It happened the day of the Moon Festival. It could have been left behind, they all could have moved on with their lives. But secrets have a habit of rising to the surface, especially in small towns. Two couples, four ironclad friendships, the perfect coastal holiday town. With salt-stung houses perched like lifeguards overlooking the shore, Lago Point is the scene of postcards, not crime scenes. Wife and mother Abbi, town cop Blake, schoolteacher Hannah and local doctor Will are caught in their own tangled webs of deceit. When the truth washes in to their beachside community, so do the judgements: victim, or vigilante, who will forgive, who will betray? Not all relationships survive. Nor do all residents.

Quantum Phase Transitions in Cold Atoms and Low Temperature Solids by Kaden Richard Alan Hazzard Book Resume:

The primary focus of this thesis is to theoretically describe nanokelvin experiments in cold atomic gases, which offer the potential to revolutionize our understanding of strongly correlated many-body systems. The thesis attacks major challenges of the field: it proposes and analyzes experimental protocols to create new and interesting states of matter and introduces theoretical techniques to describe probes of these states. The phenomena considered include the fractional quantum Hall effect, spectroscopy of strongly correlated states, and quantum criticality, among others. The thesis also clarifies experiments on disordered quantum solids, which display a variety of exotic phenomena and are candidates to exhibit so-called "supersolidity." It collects experimental results and constrains their interpretation through theoretical considerations. This Doctoral Thesis has been accepted by Cornell University, Ithaca, USA.

Our betrayal did. Thirteen years later, I am thirty, childless and single, attempting to renovate my life rescuing a rundown worker’s cottage. All is as it should be in my safe little world – until Jack buys the vacant lot behind my house... and the feelings that we buried all those years ago – the guilt, the love and the pain - resurface. Creationism and Anti-Creationism in the United States by Tom Kaden Book Resume:

This book deals with professional creationist and anti-creationist organizations in America, and describes how the “conflict between science and religion” is the result of the interaction between these two groups. It retraces their history from the 1960s onwards, and identifies crucial turning points that led to new forms of creationism and anti-creationism. It explains their strategies, labels and arguments as effects of this history and structure. Taking a field theoretical approach, the book avoids problems of prior creationism research, making it possible to identify the mechanisms through which creationism generates new strategies, arguments, and media output. The field model is used as an interpretive tool to make sense of some of the most important creationist and anti-creationist publications and media statements.

This is the account of two men who believe that we are created for deep, meaningful, and emotionally intimate relationships. The authors have found these relationships with their wives, and they are models for their children. They experience this kind of relationship with each other. They share how vital these relationships are through their non-profit: Someone To Tell It To. They create safe environments for people to share the stories of their lives openly and unashamedly. They encourage others to find safe people in their lives to foster relationships that provide true support, unconditional love, and grace. This book shares the authors’ stories and the stories of others who are seeking meaning and purpose in their lives, especially when faced with challenges and questions. Someone To Tell It To may remind us that we are not alone in our fears, or in our feelings of inadequacy and uncertainty. Readers may be motivated to create more vital connections in their lives, connections that can be life-giving and soul-enriching, that can bring peace in the dark seasons of our lives. “Having someone to tell it to,” as author Miles Franklin writes, is “one of the fundamental needs of human beings.”

Physics and National Socialism by Klaus Hentschel Book Resume:

"[The author] has done a great service to historians of modern physics by editing this first anthology of primary sources, excellently translated into English... The texts are well selected and range widely, from private correspondence and official memoranda to articles dealing with physics in a propagandistic or popular manner... Many of the sources are extremely interesting and appear here for the first time. Their value is further enhanced by the editor's cross-referencing and detailed notes... [The book] is also a fine introduction to the entire subject. [The] 101-page 'introduction' gives an admirable survey of German physics during the Nazi period as well as a thorough discussion of the historiography of the subject... [The book] is of such quality and usefulness that were I to choose a single book on the history of physics in the Third Reich this might well be the one." H. Kragh, Centaurus
